The Dragon Houses are some of the oldest buildings in Europe. Their existence dates back to the 12th century BC. They are scattered in the area stretching from Styra to Karystos.

Of all the Dragon Houses worth mentioning separately is the drakospito of Ochi as the most impressive and best known, which some describe as a miracle of architecture. It is located half an hour south of Styra on the road to Karystos, on mount Ochi, at an altitude of 1399 meters.

The Castle of Armena stands in an impressive position above the area of Styra, offering panoramic views of the Gulf of Evia and the southern part of the island. Its ruins form a distinctive historical monument, directly connected with the ancient acropolis of Styra.

Access is possible via a particularly scenic hiking trail, passing through rocky formations and traces of older fortifications. The characteristic stone gateway, which survives to this day, impresses with the simplicity and sturdiness of its construction, recalling the long history of the site.

Agia Triada is a small chapel in the area of Styra, built in a peaceful location surrounded by trees and stone landscaping. Its simple architecture blends perfectly with the natural character of the area.
